That’s right everyone, it is not even July yet, and we are going to discuss pre-fall trends! Get your notebooks ready because I am about to tell you all about the top 5 trends that are going to take the fashion world by storm next season!
If you are asking yourself “why are we even talking about this before Canada day?” — because, in order to be up to date with trends, you always have to be one step ahead of them!
Last week, Amanda lead an amazing fall trends meeting so we are all aware of what is up and coming. And let’s just say, there is LOTS of exciting stuff to anticipate!

red everything
Step aside pink, red is here and it is coming in HOT! This bold colour has been seen all over the runways in tons of the fall 2023 fashion shows such as Valentino, Alexander McQueen, and more. It keeps appearing in this bright fiery hue that is catching everyone’s attention.
Now, if you don’t want to dive straight into this trend and get immersed in all of this colour, you can easily start out with red accessories such as shoes or bags! Baby steps!
2. huge bags
Remember when micro bags were all the rage? Well, now it’s the complete opposite! We want to see the biggest and most inflated tote bags! Well, within reason of course. A lot of the bags we have been seeing in this sort of silhouette have more of a slouchy appearance rather than a crisp, structured one.
This is certainly one of the most practical trends we have seen! Who doesn’t love a good tote bag?
3. power suits
Ahhh the good ol’ power suit. The 80s just called, and they said shoulder pads and trousers are here to stay (and I personally could not be more excited)! The oversized blazer has been around for a number of seasons now, but we now want to include the matching trousers! Bottega Veneta, YSL and Balenciaga have displayed this trend very heavily in their recent shows.
So, if you STILL haven’t gotten your hands on an oversized blazer (which you all should already have…) you MUST get your hands on one before the fall! Embrace the shoulder pads! I promise you will learn to love them.
4. 50 shades of grey (kinda)
Grey is this seasons new brown! We have been seeing grey thrown into almost all of the runway shows, but in a variety of different shades. You can expect your wardrobes to have a lot of red and grey in it this fall!
These fall trends have been much edgier than what we have seen in recent years, and in all honesty — it is SO cool! The grey, red, and power suits?! I know summer just started, but the fall fashion is definitely something us girls at the office are excited for!
5. ties
I saved the one you are all probably the least excited about for to the end… yes that is right, ties are going to be the newest accessory addition to your outfits. Now before you go and dismiss it, take a look at how powerful they look! In a way, the tie trend goes hand in hand with the power suits as it is used as that “final touch”.
Now I know this trend won’t be for everyone, but it doesn’t hurt to try it! In the pre-fall trends guide, I did sneak a black tie in there and showed you all how you can wear it! I suggest go taking a look at it before you completely say no to it. And remember, fashion is all about having FUN!!
